CCC Time Trial #3

ccc wheelThe air was a little chilly last night but the pavement was red hot after thirteen riders burnt up the tarmac at the third instalment of the CCC Tuesday Night TT.   Riders seem to be getting reacquainted with the suffering and pushing through the pain as most achieved their 2016 personal bests.  Results are posted and can be found here.

TT Results – 2016

Hope to see everyone again next week.

CCC Volunteers Needed!!!

The 2016 CCC season is soon to begin but in order to make this season a success we are looking for your help.  We have a need for the following volunteer positions.

BOARD OF DIRECTOR – RIDE CO-ORDINATOR

This position will work with the ride leaders and communication director to help organize and communicate various club rides activities to the members.  Duties may include; communicating with the various ride leaders and communications director to help schedule new or existing rides to the membership; answering various ride related questions; help with defining the seasons event scheduling, etc.   This position does not require you to be a ride leader or attend all rides. Please email president@cobourgcyclingclub.com if you are interested in helping with this position.

RIDE LEADERS

To keep the existing weekly rides happening, and hopefully enable us to have more weekend rides, we need ride leaders.  This can be your opportunity to organize a ride on your favourite course (Fast, Slow, Long, Short, Hilly, Fat, Flat, Coffee, Lunch, etc) at your desired pace and goals.  The CCC Ride Leaders Guide  http://cobourgcyclingclub.com/saftey/ride-leader-guide/ can hopefully help answer any questions.  To have more rides we need more ride leaders therefore please email communications@cobourgcyclingclub.com if you have any questions or would like to lead a ride.

CPR/FIRST AID

If you are a member who has formal first aid and CPR training it would be appreciated if you could please email communications@cobourgcyclingclub.com and let us know.  Knowing which members in our club have first aid training will help ensure we have people on rides that may be able to assist in case of an emergency if needed.

CAN Bike instructors course – April

In April, Cycle Transitions with the help of the Northumberland Cycling club is putting on a CAN Bike instructors course.

James Herman (National Instructor for Can Bike Canada) will be here to do an instructor course which is a good course for any cyclist to take, and really should be a requirement for ride leaders.

The Cobourg Cycling Club has been invited to participate and at this time there would be no cost to anyone.

Please contact Dave Singfield if interested in attending.

Event: 7 laps (30-40-min) of fun.

Hope to see you Sunday.

Sinclair CX TT #4 Results

Conditions were perfect again this weekend for Sinclair CX #4. Another new course kept riders on there toes with lots of twists and turns and optional barrier dismounts. The two colours of flags looked like they helped, but some further improvements will be made next time to ensure everyone stay on course. I’ll try to get some more green flags to fill the gaps.  Thanks again to Kevin for helping setting up, and to everyone for coming out and help taking it down, much appreciated.  Hopefully we can get one or two more rides in before the snow hits.  We will not be having one next weekend, but stay tuned for future dates.

Sinclair X TT #4 Results

Sinclair CX TT #3 – Results

Another beautiful sunny day for cyclocross at Sinclair this morning. A little frost on the ground made for some slightly bumpier conditions, but nothing a little less tire pressure couldn’t soak up.  Course was lengthen a little again, to make for the longest TT to date with all riders being north of 40min out on course.

A few guest appearance were made today from other CCC members to witness the fun a Sinclair.  Sounds like there is interest to have another ride next week, therefore stay tuned for Sinclair CX TT #4 scheduled for Saturday Dec 5th.

Next weekend looks like warmer weather but don’t let the colder temperatures scare you from coming out. The park is fairly sheltered and the lower speeds, coupled with higher intensity, keep things nice and toasty.

Stay tuned for details.

Thanks again to Rob Naish for once again braving the cold and providing times.
